What gauge strings should I use on my Epiphone Casino?
It's the newest model, a standard $600 one.
There is no hard and fast rule to this as long as it is regular electric guitar strings. If you like what is on, then use the same gauge. Personally, I prefer 010 or even 011 on this type of guitar, the thinner 009 seems too weak for my taste.
What you may experience when you go up (or down) in gauge, is that you will need to adjust the neck truss rod ever so slightly and to fine tune the intonation. The former is something you probably don't want to mess with yourself first time around. It is not difficult, but you will need to know what you're doing.
The intonation is easily adjusted with the bridge saddles on most guitars. I assume there are a number of videos online showing you how it's done. Again if you're unsure, then leave the job to a guitar tech. This stuff is typically done in a matter of minutes.
