can a data jack work if it is terminated as 568b, & pacth panel is 568b. But patch cable is 568a?
Help me settle a debate. I say, when we test this data jack it will fail. But, my partner says it will still work. Again, the horizantal pathway is all 568b. But, the patch cable on the tester is 568a. HELP?
It will work... and here's why... the pathway is the same on both sides. the patch cable is the same on both sides... network traffic doesn't care what color wire it is travelling on... As long as the patch cable is 568a at both connectors and the horizontal pathway is 568b on both sides, you have a straight through path.
