I hav money for the guitar and the amp and other things needed for a electric guitar
I prefer my students to start out on electric, so they won't hurt their fingers so bad when they play. the strings are lighter, and the action is lower. "Action" is the distance between the string, and the fretboard. Electric guitars are easier to play, and easier to hold, unless you have a "Flying V".

These guitars were not intended to be played sitting down.
Personally, I love Fender guitars. The majority of my guitars are Strats. I love "Teles" too.
I have a bad right shoulder, so I have little use for a Les Paul, which is only slightly heavier than the average car battery.
