is this guitar good?
any help would be great thanks here are the details

Had a look at their site...seem to be run of the mill guitars. However for a first guitar to learn from may not be that bad. Aoqua is right, you need to play a few other guitars (if you haven't already) to get a feel for different shapes and sizes and choose one that's suits your playing style - since this is an investment in your playing future - looks aren't everything.
The materials used are typical of most guitars.
Another point to note is to stand up with the guitar resting on your feet, headstock pointing up towards you. You want to look straight down the top of the fret board - essentially you want it to be straight. The truss rod you mentioned is located inside the neck of the guitar. If it has been tightened too tightly it can 'bow' or 'bend' the neck with can mean your guitar is going to be out of tune.
