For example fibre optic, coaxial, or twisted pair cables
Or for wireless infrared, radio waves, microwave and Satellite or any other suggestions
...include cost, installation, and possible interference problems

You really just answered you own question. It depends on cost, installation and possible interference problems. Each network is different, and depending on the needs of that network and the location, cable transmission may be better than wireless or visa-versa.
